Yes. Scuvvers are tested to a waterproof standard of 2000mm, so you can sit on your Scuvvers in your wetsuit, boardshorts or bikini without worrying about soaking your seats.

This doesn’t mean that water will never pass through the fabric, but it is made to repel water for a long time (more than 2 hours) before any penetrates.

Scuvvers are not designed to be a permanent seat cover.

In fact, the whole idea behind Scuvvers was to enjoy the look and feel of our car’s standard seats most of the time and just be able to protect them when we’ve been outside having fun and getting active.

Easy, you have a couple of options there.

First of all, if you mostly get your Scuvvers sweaty or wet, you don’t need to clean them very often. Just detach the Cover section from time to time and hang it out in the sun to air it.

If (like us) you get your Scuvvers filthy after a session on your mountain bike, you can either throw them in the washing machine on a delicate or hand wash cycle using water no hotter than 30˚C (86˚F), or just hose them off when you wash down your bike (you do wash your bike, right?).

Yes. You can put a Scuvver between your child’s seat and the car seat to protect your car seat from spilled juice boxes, dripping ice cream and sticky fingers.

If your child’s seat secures to the car using the ISOFIX system, just build your own Scuvver by choosing one of our standard Harness and combine that with an ISOFIX-Compatible Cover section.

If your Child’s seat secures using the seatbelt, you can just use a standard Scuvver.

It’s up to you. You can keep your Scuvvers stowed on the back of the headrest when they’re not in use so they’re always close to hand when you need them.

You can also detach the stowed Cover section neatly enclosed in its compact pouch and slip it into your door pocket, the glove compartment or even in your gym bag!

Absolutely! We love our furry friends but not what they do to our car seats, so we made sure that Scuvvers are made from tough multi-layer 600D/300D polyester to withstand sharp claws.

And to clean off all that fur, just detach the Cover section from the Harness and give it a good shake or hose it off. Job done!

Scuvvers are fine for minivans that have a full size third row, such as the VW Multivan, KIA Carnival and Dodge Caravan, but they are a bit large for most 7 seat SUVs that have a fold-up third row. Don't worry, we're working on a smaller version for these!

Scuvvers are very nearly universal, but because car headrests come in so many shapes and sizes, we had to create two sizes for the Harness.

If your car seats have headrests that are separate from the main body of the seat (usually mounted on two posts so you can adjust the headrest height), then Scuvvers are compatible with your car.

If your car’s headrests are integrated with the seats but there is an opening for the Scuvvers strap to pass through, then Scuvvers still may work with your car but get in touch with us to check.

The only attachment to the car seat is the Harness section that wraps around your headrest.

The Harness includes the pouch, which wraps around the Cover to keep it neatly in place when not in use. When deployed, the Cover just drapes over your seat and the ingenious silicone non-slip backing keeps it firmly in place.

Yes. We designed Scuvvers to suit most front and rear seats, you just need to make sure that you measure your headrests so you choose the correct size.

Just refer to our easy How To video. We don’t recommend the full-size Cover for third-row seats in SUVs as these are generally much smaller, but we’re working on a solution for that.

No. We use a soft genuine silicone non-slip backing to stop your Scuvvers from sliding around on your seats.

The silicone is neutral and does not contain any dyes. Our textiles are also solution-dyed, which is not only much better for the environment than standard dyeing (uses 90% less water and produces 94% less CO2), but is also highly colourfast.

Great question, we gave this one a lot of thought because here in Australia, dual-cab utes (four-door pickups, double cabs, crew cabs…) are everywhere.

When you fold your Scuvver for stowing, you have the option to fold the pouch once, twice or roll it up like a burrito (as Joan says in our How To video).

If you just fold it once, the pouch with the Cover enclosed is thin enough to fit between the rear seat headrest and rear window in the vast majority of dual-cabs we tested. The other option is to just detach the folded pouch from the Harness with the easy slide connector and stow it in the door pocket or in the pocket behind the front seat.

Yes. Because Scuvvers don’t wrap around the sides of your seats and don’t use any straps, they are safe to use with seats that have airbags.

Scuvvers are proudly designed in Australia and made in Vietnam.

All textile fibers in Scuvvers are made from 100% recycled polyester, even those soft microsuede panels you rest your head on.

Scuvvers are made from more than 90% post-consumer recycled materials, so every Scuvver prevents more than 35 plastic bottles from ending up in landfill or our oceans.

Our packaging is also made from recycled and compostable cardboard, so it won't harm the environment.
